The North West Mental Health Stop Smoking Training Initiative was commissioned by the North West Development Centre, part of the Care Services Improvement Partnership (CSIP).

The work has brought together NHS mental health and primary care trusts. The aim has been to bridge the gap between these areas of health care that has so often left mental health service users unable to find accessible and evidence based stop smoking support.

The training team (see below) attended a “Train the Trainers” course on smoking cessation in mental health run by Dr. Lisa McNally, Health Psychologist and specialist in quit smoking support for mental health service users.
