Smoking & Mental Health Training Events - 2010.
Smoke Free Minds, together with Commssioning Support for London recently delivered a series of training events across the London region - specifically aimed at NHS Stop Smoking Service Staff.
The course covers specialist knowledge on issues such as:
- smoking and medication metabolism
-
quitting smoking and depressive replapse
- varenicline and mental health
- smoking in the 'culture' of mental healthcare
These and other issues are examined with reference to the
implications
they have for the delivery of NHS Stop Smoking Services.
The course also presents a new model (AIMS) of how services
can screen for mental health issues, inform the correct professionals,
and tailor support to meet any specific needs the client may have.
